Are you aged 16-21 and want to have a say in how a leading arts organisation is run?

We’re looking for young people aged 16-21 to get involved in running MAYK either by being a board member or by taking part in our new young programmers group.

We’d like to hear from young people across Bristol, whatever your qualifications, background or work experience.

What we’re looking for:

  • Young Programmers group: young people aged 16-21 to see shows with us in and around Bristol, go to events during Mayfest 2018 and to come to informal programming meetings. A major part of putting on a festival is actually choosing what performances go in it – that’s what a programmer does – and we want to equip you with the tools to critically watch shows so that you can have a say in what will happen in our future festivals.
  • Board members: one or two young people aged 18-21 to attend quarterly board meetings, advise us on how we run MAYK, and represent us at events.

You’ll get free tickets to shows, a Mayfest Festival Pass, travel expenses, mentoring from MAYK staff and the chance to have a say in how MAYK is run.

If this sounds like something you would like to try, get in touch with us matthewandkate@mayk.org.uk with a short statement on why you want to get involved. Or, if you’d like to have a chat about this opportunity, please call Polly on 0117 925 9999.
