An interactive storytelling project devised and performed by Molly Naylor and Byron Vincent. This year’s Mayfest and Theatre Bristol co-commission
Throughout Mayfest, and until the 9th June we are sewing stories for individuals around the city of Bristol. Twenty chosen participants will have their favourite spot lit up with a special, unique experience.
After a city-wide call-out through March and April, we received a huge number of wonderful ideas for made-to-order stories. Some of these were private moments, a gift for one special individual, whilst some were celebratory events for a group of friends.
Over the course of the project we will conjure a brain in a jar of vinegar on Brandon Hill, the giant silver ball in Millennium Square will be thrown a great distance and a tailor-made TV show about a child’s adventures will be told through a cardboard box, big enough for two.
We will chart the journeys of the stories on our Made Up maps which will be in both the Mayfest Cafe and Bristol Old Vic. It’s a picture of Bristol told through private moments and tall tales. We hope you enjoy watching it unfold.
You can read most of the stories on our website, they will be posted once they have been told.
Keep an eye on twitter for live coverage of the story-telling too.
