Dead Line

Jo Bannon

Thu 14- Sun 17 May

Because we can’t talk to the dead but we can talk to the living…

Dead Line is a live encounter that creates a space to talk a little more openly about our fears, hopes and desires for living and dying. It is a part-installation, part-performance, for one person at a time which invites you to confront your own mortality, to ask another what you daren’t even ask yourself. A one to one encounter which will help you sleep at night.

Commissioned by In Between Time. Supported by Capacity Bristol; a Bristol City Council initiative, Parlour Showrooms and Residence. Original concept by Jo Bannon and Lucy Cassidy

Dead Line offers us the opportunity to step away from the hustle and bustle of just being and to think about coming to a stop. Strangely this experience is immensely positive and uplifting…a privileged moment I treasure still and I hope you will too.  Helen Cole, In Between Time

Jo Bannon’s Exposure, which questions the act of looking itself, is an extraordinary 10 minutes which considers not just how we look but what we choose to look at too– Lyn Gardner, The Guardian (On Exposure)

Jo’s work is expertly edited; it is both a joy and a treasure to be given a moment which you may feel is unique to you. To fully know one’s self may be impossible, but Bannon gives us a chance to explore that possibility – ★★★★, Total Theatre
