Mayfest is an internationally acclaimed theatre festival with a uniquely local flavour. Every other May, Bristol comes alive with the very best local, national and international theatre; from joyful dance shows on the top of multi-storey carparks to intimate performances in houses, to gigs, parties and lots more.

From Bristol Old Vic to the Tobacco Factory Theatres, from Arnolfini to Trinity, Mayfest takes over venues and sites across Bristol for an explosion of performance.

Mayfest is a festival for Bristol with an international reach. Mayfest’s audience are a broad spectrum of culturally aware adventure seekers of all ages.

Our research tells us that our typical attendees enjoy new experiences, love theatre, live music, contemporary art and cinema. They are sociable, curious and creative, and are as likely to be at the start of their careers as they are to be older audiences setting out to try something new. 60% of our audience is from Bristol, 20% from Bath and North East Somerset and 20% from across the UK and international.

Our values are collaboration, representation, joy, kindness and mischief. We want to create experiences that blow audiences’ minds.

We’d like to partner with companies who share our values and have an interest in culture, sustainability and innovation. We have previously partnered with: Triodos Bank, Pukka Teas, Colston Hall, Mark’s Bread, Hart’s Bakery, Extract Coffee and Bath Ales. Last year we secured prestigious sponsorship from Aperol Spritz. Now we hope you will consider joining us too.
