Action Hero

Mayfest 2020 is no longer taking place due to Covid-19. We need your support now more than ever, so sign up to our mailing list, or consider donating, to help us deliver an even more exceptional festival in the future.

Oh Europa is a labour of love; a project that spans a continent and cuts straight to the heart.

Since 2018, Action Hero (Gemma Paintin & James Stenhouse) have been travelling through Europe in their motorhome, asking strangers to sing a love song. Spending more than 300 days and nights on the road, they have recorded the voices of over a thousand people, singing about love and heartbreak in 46 different languages.

For one day only, Gemma & James invite you to join them for RadiOh Europa. Broadcasting the love songs they have recorded to date, Radioh Europa is an epic, 8-hour-long “deep listening experience”: a live radio show from the heart-lands of Europe and, perhaps, an opportunity to hear ourselves emerge out of the white noise.

To hear every single song we’ve collected so far, you can listen to love through the night by tuning in online at oheuropa.com from 11pm the day before the performance. We’ll go live at 3pm on 23rd May for RadiOh Europa.

Oh Europa is Pay What You Decide on the door. Come and go as you please and stay for as long as you like between 3pm–11pm.

Sing Us A Love Song!

Find the Oh Europa van at various Easton locations during Mayfest to add a love song to the collection! All voices are welcome. Stay tuned for updates to find out where they'll be.

“...national identity is, in part, down to chance. With nationalism rising across Europe, Oh Europa feels like a small tonic. ”
